Ben is a community-based improviser from Brooklyn, NY. He is a featured performer in “Dancify That!”, a comedy dance game show at The People’s Improv Theater and hosts “Cozy Zone with Ben Weber,” a site-specific podcast exploring where artists dream.

Ben makes spontaneous song in community as a joyful healing practice for himself and others. He regularly facilitates circlesings at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Third Root Community Health Center, and Park Church Coop. Recently, he lead a Big Sing with the creative community of Hamilton, Ontario. He has spent three consecutive summers training at the Omega Institute with master vocal improvisers Joey Blake, David Worm, Judi Vinar, Zuza Gonzalves, Rhiannon, and Bobby McFerrin.

Ben’s social sculpture project “SMASH TYPE: a living letterpress” has been activated throughout New York City and Los Angeles. His current visual art practices investigates how to capture beautiful evidence of ephemeral improvisation.

He is a proud teaching artist with The New Victory Theater, Brooklyn Arts Council, and Brooklyn Arts Exchange, creating lessons in drama, music, visual art, and creative movement for young people ages 1 to 12.

Ben graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and received his Masters in Applied Theatre from the City University of New York.
